Led Zeppelin- Misty Mountain Top

Live from Knebworth, 1979

Here are the rules from the male side. These are the rules!

1. Men are NOT mind readers.

2. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

3. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

4. Crying is blackmail.

5. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

6. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

7. Come to us with a problem ONLY if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

- No. 8 is not a rule. -

9. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 Days.

10. If you won't dress like the Victoria 's Secret girls don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.

11. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.

12. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of them makesyou sad or angry, then we meant the other one.

13. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

14. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

15. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.

16. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings.Peach, for example, is a fruit, not **A** color . Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

17. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

18. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," We will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle, besides we know you will bring it up again later.

19. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, Expect an answer you don't want to hear.

20. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine... Really.

Don´t Tell Me - Madonna

Não me diga para parar,
Diga para a chuva não cair,
Diga para o vento não soprar,
Porque assim disse você...
Diga para o sol não brilhar
Para não levantar-se desta vez,
Deixe-o cair pelo caminho,
Mas não me largue onde eu me deitar.

Siddartha

  • But be warned, oh seeker of knowledge, of the thicket of opinions and of arguing about words. There is nothing to opinions, they may be beautiful or ugly, smart or foolish, everyone can support them or discard them.

  • But the teachings, you've heard from me, are no opinion, and their goal is not to explain the world to those who seek knowledge. They have a different goal; their goal is salvation from suffering. This is what Gotama teaches, nothing else."

  • This too, I have learned from the river: everything is coming back! You too, Samana, will come back. Now farewell! Let your friendship be my reward.

  • Thirty spokes connect to the wheel’s hub; yet, it is the centre hole that makes it useful. Clay is shaped into a vessel; yet, it is the emptiness within that makes it useful. Doors and windows are cut for a room; yet it is the space where there is nothing that makes it useful. Therefore, though advantage comes from what is; usefulness comes from what is not.

The Way

'Why indeed must God' be a noun? Why not a verb, the most active and dynamic of all?' -- Mary Daly (b. 1928), U.S. educator, writer, theologian. Beyond God the Father, ch. 2 (1973).

'The existence of the worst evils is unimaginable unless God willed them.' -- Georges Bataille (1897-1962),

'What preoccupies us, then, is not God as a fact of nature, but as a fabrication useful for a God-fearing society. God himself becomes not a power but an image.' -- Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914), U.S. historian. The Image, ch. 5 (1961).

EL Camino de las Ocho Sendas
1. Right Knowledge is knowledge of what life is all about. Knowledge of the Four Noble Truths is basic to any further growth as a Buddhist.

2. Right Aspiration means a clear devotion to being on the Path toward Enlightenment.

3. Right Speech involves both clarity of what is said (taking care to say just what is meant) and speaking kindly, and without malice.

4. Right Behavior involves reflecting on one's behavior and the reasons for it. It also involves five basic laws of behavior for Buddhists: not to kill, steal, lie, drink intoxicants, or commit sexual offenses.

5. Right Livelihood involves choosing an occupation that keeps an individual on the Path. That is, a path that promotes life and well-being, rather than the accumulation of a lot of money.

6. Right Effort means training the will and curbing selfish passions and wants. It also means placing oneself along the Path toward Enlightenment.

7. Right Mindfulness implies continuing self-examination and awareness. The 'Dhammapada,' a basic Buddhist text, begins, "All we are is the result of what we have thought."

8. Right Concentration is the final step in being absorbed into a state of Nirvana.

Dhammapada

  • Ariyas (the elect)
    Mara (the tempter)
    Maghavan (Indra)
Yama (the lord of the departed)
    Arhat (The Venerable )
    Arhanta (venerable persons)
    Agni (fire)
    Pandita (The Wise Man)

  • The fool who knows his foolishness, is wise at least so far. But a fool who thinks himself wise, he is called a fool indeed.

  • A Bhikshu (mendicant) who delights in reflection, who looks at thoughtlessness with fear, cannot fall away (from his perfect state)--he is close upon Nirvana.

  • "One is the road that leads to wealth, another the road that leads to Nirvana;" if the Bhikshu, the disciple of Buddha, has learnt this, he will not yearn for honour, he will strive after separation from the world.
  • Good people walk on whatever befall, the good do not prattle, longing for pleasure; whether touched by happiness or sorrow wise people never appear elated or depressed.
  • He who always greets and constantly reveres the aged, four constantly reveres the aged, four things will increase to him: life, beauty, happiness, power.
pain is the outcome of evil....happiness is the outcome of good.
  • Even by the falling of water-drops
    a water-pot is filled;
the fool becomes full of evil,
even if he gather it little by little.
Even by the falling of water-drops
    a water-pot is filled;
the wise man becomes full of good, even if he gather it little by little.
  • Health is the greatest of gifts, contentedness the best riches;
trust is the best of relationships, Nirvana the highest happiness.
  • Let a man overcome anger by love, let him overcome evil by good;let him overcome the greedy by liberality, the liar by truth!
  • There is no fire like passion, there is no shark like hatred, there is no snare like folly, there is no torrent like greed.
  • `All created things perish,'
    `All created things are grief
    and pain,'
    `All forms are unreal,'
  • He who does not rouse himself when it is time to rise, who, though young and strong, is full of sloth, whose will and thought are weak, that lazy and idle man will never find the way to knowledge.
